From serial entrepreneurs to managing directors and IP lawyers, CUE has invited help from leading experts to cover all aspects of a business plan and a elevator pitch that will make sure your business idea is the favourite of investors.

Cambridge-based consultancy which helps small and medium
sized enterprises to run their business well. 

 

  Making the Perfect Pitch

 

  Dr Darrin Disley

Executive Chairman, Horizon.

Dr Disley is a serial entrepreneur with the experience of setting-up seven new ventures in the Biotech, IT and Consumer Products markets and has a track-record for building sustainable businesses from low-tech and high-tech innovation.

Dr Disley holds a PhD in Biotechnology from the University of Cambridge; has been the author of six papers, 7 patent applications and 26 conference abstracts and; has been an advisor on biotech commercialisation strategies to key technology centres in Europe, USA, India and Africa.

  Finances and Investments

 

  Peter Hiscocks

Peter has founded eight new ventures of which three have been sold, one has closed and he is Chairman or Director of the others. These businesses include Integral Inc - a $50 million consulting company; Ecurie25 Ltd - a supercar club; and Pod Point Ltd - an EV recharging business. He is the Chairman of a £20 million seed-fund that helps fund new business start-ups and is on the advisory board of a large venture capital company. He is also an active business angel. At the University of Cambridge Peter was Director of Cambridge Enterprise and prior to that was the first Director of the Cambridge Entrepreneurship Centre.

Peter has advised several European governments and has chaired European Commission committees on matters of innovation strategy; commercialising university intellectual property; and improving the effective transfer of research programmes into commercial innovations.

  Suzanne Oliver

 Senior Attorney of HLBBshaw. She is a Chartered Engineer with a broad background in telecommunications.
